CA in June!! And some nec updates....

I am so sorry for my lack of updates! It's been a busy month or two - what do you expect? Mom of two little kids, real estate market, the end of school, incredible FL weather?? I think across the nation that April and May are "usually" some of the best months of the year - it's no different here. We've been out and playin', ya'll!

So, Zoey finished school. She is now an official Pre-K student. FL has a free pre-k program and her church school is a participant. So next year, Zoey goes to school for FREE!!.......Yes, I said Free. I'm so happy - that saves us about $2500 next year which should cover the increase in our taxes/insurance on our house for one quarter! No, I'm just kidding. She did of course finish the year with William, her same boyfriend. He is adorable. I actually watched her lean over and kiss the top of his head at a birthday party. He didnt react, didnt flinch, didnt do anything. But he later told his mom that it was the BEST BIRTHDAY PARTY EVER! We did however, request to NOT be in class with William next year. Sorry, but two years together might bring us to a whole new level that this family is just not ready for.....here is a picture of her throwing a water balloon at William on the last day of school.

I hosted a TEA Paaahhtttyyy for Zoey and her friends. Since she's is quite the social little girl (and I have NO idea where she gets it), there were 13 kids plus moms invited over here. I had two tables set up - one in the living room for the moms and the other in our dining room for the kids. I had my full china set up for both the kids and moms, finger sandwiches, cookies, tea, little finger foods, etc. It was a blast. The girls all ate with their napkins in their laps, used their utensils, their tea cups, waited for everyone to be served, and demonstrated general table manners that all the moms just stood there agasp watching them! I dont think any of us had ever seen our girls eat like that! No one even broke a single dish or cup. It was such fun for all. The girls did so well with their manners and eating lunch that 30mins later they TORE MY HOUSE APART!!! I've never seen 2500sqft covered in wall to wall toys. It was a crazy free for all - and ok for like once every 2 years or something. Actually it was crazy insanity, but I have some amazing friends who all pitched in and helped me get the house back to normal. The moms all had so much fun that we started a trend and other moms want to host one at their house next. I think the next one will be in June. Oh, and of the 13 invitees, of course, one of them was William. And yes, he did show up. He was so excited. And he did seem to have a great time hanging out with 13 girls.....

Audrey. Well, how can you not talk about just how gigantic she is. She TOWERS over my friends 3yros. She is definitely the biggest toddler I know except for this other little girl in my moms group. But she's not big in a bad way - she's as tall as she is heavy. She is just a very very tall girl. I hope she gets her dad's athletic ability - she could do any sport she put her mind to. Same thing for Zoey, it's just that Audrey will most likely TOWER over her classmates. Her verbal abilities are much much better. She repeats everything I say but also knows lots of words. She just chooses to speak at her own pace. When she wants and what she wants. She does say phrases. Like want that or what's that. Other words she likes to use....booby(still nursing!), chicken, cookie, come on, come, milk (for drink even though she wont drink milk in a cup or bottle), kitty, ppppeeeeeessssss (please. required word for whatever she wants), Bbeee (her friend Brie who just moved to Jersey today :-(. And so many many more. It's more the fact that she knows all these words but only speaks on her own pace. Which is NOT when WE ask her to.....she is using signs for things she wants to. Just recently she started with this chest pounding motion to show me that she wants me to pick her up. I'm trying to get her to say UP Please first. But she still automatically looks at me and pats her chest repeatedly, then puts her arms in the air. She still has quite the shoe fetish. I cant make it out of Target without stopping in the shoe aisle, and last week in Atlanta I bought a new pair of running shoes. Audrey entertained all the employees with her obsession of finding the perfect heels as she walked down the aisle trying on every other pair!

Finally, (I'm getting sleepy, I'll catch up more again later). We are going to California in June. The 4-18th to be exact. I'll be staying in LA at first then up to San Francisco. I'm so excited. I'll be in SF by the 9th or so and will be there until we leave on the 18th. I miss so many friends and family out there. All the time. I cant wait to see them for what will seem like a brief second, but will hopefully last a lot longer in the fun/memories department. I'm traveling alone with both girls (technically not alone at all but alone as the only adult!). It's a girls adventure and I'm all too excited. I cant wait to show Zoey where she was born and where she used to live as a baby. She loves to hear about those days so much. What better than to actually take her there. Not to mention, I'll try to get them to eat some good Ethiopian and Indian foods. Not to mention some good avocadoes, artichokes, fruit.......Yumm, CALIFORNIA here we come!!!!
